ScheduleSunday, May 16, 2010, from 4:30 PM until 6:00 PM at the STOCKLEY GARDENS ARTS FESTIVAL, an outdoor event in Stockley Gardens in Norfolk's Ghent neighborhood that benefits the HOPE HOUSE FOUNDATION. Art, outdoors, blues, and ambience that is hard to beat.
Sunday, June 20, 2010, at some point in the day (the time has yet to be set), at La Fete de la Musique, in Norfolk's East Beach community in East Ocean View. Last year, we were on Stage 2, Stage Pavilion, mon frere, which is just behind the tennis courts on 27th Bay Street. This year, who knows, maybe there, maybe elsewhere - wherever we are, I'm confident it'll be fun. Enter the East Beach Community by turning onto Pleasant Avenue from Shore Drive (it is about one block south of the Ship's Cabin restaurant). There is a big parking lot to your left on either side of 24th Bay Street. There will be a trolley to take you throughout the community (apparently they don't want us aimlessly driving through the 'hood). If you take Pleasant Avenue to 27th Bay Street and turn right (south), drive about four or five blocks to the end of the street, and you'll see the tennis courts; the stage is under a gazebo behind the courts. OK, it sounds more complicated than it is, really .... (this gig was great fun!) Eventually there will be more gigs for Fat Tony. In the interim, we'll spend our time at least thinking about writing new songs, learning new licks, and sipping a beer or two. If the moon is in the seventh house and Jupiter aligns with Mars, we'll be playing "blues, swing, and everything" near you. More on the way one day ...Previous Fat Tony gigs that you may have, no wait, absolutely enjoyed were: playing at the KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS HALL, 1236 Prosperity Rd, in the Dam Neck section of Virginia Beach, VA, a gazillion times; at the SIXTH ANNUAL VIRGINIA BEER FESTIVAL, outdoors in Town Point Park on Norfolk’s waterfront last May; at the STOCKLEY GARDENS ARTS FESTIVAL, an event that benefits the HOPE HOUSE FOUNDATION in May and October annually; behind ODU's Ted Constant Center as part of the "Music on Monarch Way" concert series; at La Fete de la Musique, in Norfolk's East Beach community in East Ocean View; at HARBORFEST on the downtown Norfolk Waterfront, annually in June; outdoors in the Styron Square pavilion in the PORT WARWICK COMMUNITY in Newport News; at the ALES FOR ARCHAEOLOGY beer festival in Newport News in September, 2007; and at the KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS HALL, 211 W. Government Avenue in the Ocean View section (the 23503 section, if you will) of Norfolk, VA. |
