I’d Rather Have A Beer Instead

Jones

Woke up this afternoon and I was miffed
Too many things to do on my “to do” list
I’m never, ever, going to get all of this stuff done
Think I’ll do it tomorrow, and now I’ll have some fun

CHORUS
I’d rather have a beer instead
I’d rather have a beer instead
Well, you know, it’s true
There’s lots of things I should do, but
I’d rather have a beer instead

Looked out the window, grass was getting’ high
All my neighbors could say was “My, oh my”
I almost mowed it, isn’t it a shame
But a twelve ounce cool one was calling my name

CHORUS

I ought to do better, brother, that’s for sure, ah
I’ve got to get my mess right, and my life in order ....

I ought to change my ways, sometimes my guilt attacks me
But then a small, cool bottle in the ‘fridge distracts me
I could be more productive, but I won’t be, I fear
I could be, I would be, if it wasn’t for beer

I’ll turn a new leaf, I’m not going to con ya
I’m going to do, all of this stuff I’ve got to do … mañana

CHORUS
